As we approach the end of the year, it's a great time to review your benefits, as the plan was renewed on September 1, 2025. Kaiser Permanente can answer your questions or clarify any aspects of your benefits that are unclear.
Here are a few key reminders:
- Schedule Preventive Care: Book any remaining annual checkups, screenings, or vaccinations; they are often covered at no cost.
- Use Your FSA: If you have a Flexible Spending Account, check your balance. Most FSAs follow a "use-it-or-lose-it" rule. Spend remaining funds on eligible items like dental work, glasses, or OTC medications. Check eligibility for Health Care FSA, Dependent Care FSA, and Limited Expense Health Care FSA. Determine if the expense you incurred may be eligible here.
- Review Prescription Coverage: Make sure you have enough medication and refill any prescriptions. Confirm any necessary authorizations are up to date. Some may require annual authorization to be completed.
- Plan for Next Year: Review this year's plan and expenses to gauge how your new plan year is beginning. Kaiser Permanente has various online tools in their portal, which may be helpful.
- Create an account with Kaiser Permanente and access on the go!
Note: Your opportunity to change/update the 2026 elections for FSA will be from November 10 to 24 this year. Those changes will be effective 1/1/2026. There will be an announcement from the PATH benefits team about it.
