Venbrook Insurance is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior HR Generalist to join our dynamic team. This role will be instrumental in managing daily HR functions and supporting human resource processes across all business locations.
Position Overview
The Senior HR Generalist will be responsible for ensuring personnel actions comply with federal, state, and local regulations while maintaining strict adherence to compliance standards. This role requires a confident, process-oriented professional with strong organizational skills and effective communication abilities.
Key Responsibilities
Onboarding
- Conduct new employee orientations and assist with onboarding plan development
- Create offers for new hires, promotions, and transfers
Employee Relations and Performance Management
- Manage basic level employee relations issues
- Assist in maintaining accurate job descriptions and performance management activities
Benefits Administration and Leave Management
- Administer and manage employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, and disability plans
- Serve as the primary point of contact for benefits-related inquiries
- Ensure timely and accurate enrollment, changes, and terminations of benefits within HRIS System.
- Assist with 401k administration
- Assist employees with leave of absence questions
- Work with third party administrator on leave of absence administration
Compliance and Record Keeping
- Maintain records of personnel-related data in both physical and electronic form
- Assist with administrative processing and auditing duties in HRIS, and Learning Management System (LMS)
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
- Complete all government reporting (EEO-1)
Employee Engagement and Development
- Assist with employee engagement and retention programs
- Support the development and administration of training programs
- Participate in creating and maintaining relevant HR web pages
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Human Resources
- Strong knowledge of federal and state regulations related to benefits, leave, and compensation
- Proficiency in HRIS systems, benefits administration platforms, and Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills with high attention to detail
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using WorkDay preferred
- Professional HR certification (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP)
- Experience with vendor management and benefits negotiation
- Experience in a dynamic, multi-state environment, knowledge of California labor laws is mandatory
